Is Diabetes hereditry?
I just hit 40 and had my first child, finally some things are starting to worry me!
My paternal grandmother had diabetes for at least the last 20 years of her life, she was on injections for it
My mum has type 2 diabetes, but at least she is just managing to control it with diet so far.
My teenage niece was diagnosed with it when she was 9, she is now on insulin a few times a day.
Since having my daughter I have suddenly started to take more notice of these things, I am not sure whether it is because i am worried about my own fate or my daughters chances of becoming diabetic at an early age.
Maybe I am worried I won't be around when she grows up and has her own kids.
Maybe I am worried about it all..lol
If diabetes is hereditry does that mean I have no say in the matter, I will get it and thats it?
